Golfshot Plus App Reviews

Bad business practices

I bought a lifetime subscription for the app for $30, two years later I have to pay $30 to use it for one year. I switched to swing by swing for nothing and it works just as good and they did not lie to me telling me it was a lifetime subscription. I rated it one star since that is the lowest it will go. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.

Works great

I have iOS 2.1 on my watch and 9.2 on my 6s phone. Works great. I dont like having to enter my score on my watch before going to the next hole but thats just a gripe. Distances update within seconds of looking at my watch screen. Also, youll need to set your watch for last screen on wake. Ariel views are ok. Hazard distances are ok also, I only really care about front middle Back and this does that great. Watch battery last forever, the phone is another story, Ill need a battery case or external battery.

Works on my 3GS, but not on 3G

Overall, I still like and use the app, but Im disappointed with latest update promoting ability to link GHIN handicap with Golfshot Plus. I have Golfshot Plus, but when I went to link my GHIN, it took me to an "Upgrade to Golfshot Pro" to be able to use it!

Stopped working on the Apple Watch

The latest update of Golfshot pro made the Apple Watch useless. The watch tells me to launch the App on the iphone which is already running the app. I restarted my Apple Watch & my iPhone but the Golfshot app on the watch still doesnt work! It will not go past the "Launch Golfshot on your phone" screen. All my apps and Software updates are current. My watch also works fine with all my other apps. Several of my friends have the exact same problem on their Apple Watches so I know its not just me.

Nate

Had same problem indicated below with Apple Watch. Kept telling me to load on phone, but I was already running the app on my phone.

Same issue others are having

The watch said I needed to launch it from my phone. I tried everything. It didnt work. Need a fix now!!

Start Golfshot on iPhone

I had been using the application for some time on my watch but then starting getting the “please start golfshot on your iPhone.” I fixed this by uninstalling and re-installing the app on the Apple Watch by using Apple’s iPhone Apple Watch application. I use the application for fewer capabilities than it has, i.e. tracking distance hit, and it’s cumbersome to have to go through multiple steps and enter “fake” scores in order to use just those functions in which I’m interested.

Only 4 golfers

The older version was better, I could use up to 6 golfers. Now only 4, whats up with that?

Pretty good

Overall I like it a lot but Id like to see closer zoom in and better tournament support

Do NOT update. Apple Watch app ruined!!!

I was on v4.2 and had no issues. Apple Watch was very quick to update yardages as soon as you raised your wrist. V4.4 has ruined that. It is now painfully slow to update on the Apple Watch. I will not renew my pro subscription if it is not fixed.

Great App - very easy to use

Great for different courses, keeping stats and providing background

President - The Michels Firm

Great app. Consistent. Has all the courses. Easy and very useful

Works great

I have been using for some time. Every course ive played around the country has been on it. If notes would clear after each rnd saved instead of staying there Id give it 5 stars.

None

Latest update broke distance display functionality on Apple Watch . It used to update quickly and accurately. Now it rarely shows yardage and when it does, it doesnt update as you walk. Please fix this! This was a 5 star app before the last update.

Lifetime Fee not really lifetime

I bought this app a few years ago and paid a fee that was for life. You lied. Now, you need more fees from me. I dont remember my life ending, so I guess I dont owe you anything. Lost a customer. Good riddance, liar.

What?!

Paid 30 for "lifetime membership" and its not working. Apple Watch not working as described.

I paid a one time fee. Quit asking me for more money

I paid a one time fee. It was lifetime. They told me no annual fee. Now I get an email almost every week asking me to pay a yearly fee. Ive emailed them to stop bugging me. What is very strange is they tell me I will get 30% off. When I click on their email link it takes me to a website not The Apple Store to enter credit card details . Im not paying again and Im not giving you my credit card details. Apple already has that.

Bad business

Had iPhones since 2007 and this is my first app review ever. Want others to know that I paid $30 for a lifetime membership, but unfortunately this company made a choice not to honor that by eliminating that right in future updates. That is not a little bit of money. Its unprofessional and bad business. This app could send someone to the moon and Id throw it in the garbage out of principal.

Apple Watch subscription

Paid for App years ago. Paid extra recently for year subscription to use Apple Watch. To slow to even use on golf course now. Unless update fix comes soon, will never renew the subscription again. Use your app for years, thought it was best until latest updates, now Im using 19th hole which is free while playing golf.

Phone and Watch Interface During Game needs a lot of work

Ive used the golf app on the iPhone since it came out and its been my go to app for years, however the past year or two seems like a huge money grab. First, they release a new app that I had to pay again for (see the "lifetime" claim that really isnt). Second, a bunch of tips, scheduling, and other pretty much useless crap that you can do for free elsewhere is added and they now sell it as plus or pro features. Again, all for a yearly price. If you have been golfing for more than since yesterday, the content is rehashed internet garbage. Dont believe the watch support pics, you have to pay $14.99 per year to get more than green center which I pretty much useless unless you are on a par 3, no hazards straight shot. If you have an Apple Watch the workflow of the golf app relies on a "raise to wrist" feature that isnt available on the latest update or watch (no help from Apple Store either). Since it doesnt exist here is how a hole works: (assume PIN not set otherwise its much worse) • raise wrist, see watch, hit crown to apps, select golf app • wait a few seconds for app to sync to round on phone to get distances • drop wrist, take shot • walk to ball • raise wrist, repeat from step 1 above. Sometimes you can double tap crown to get back to the golf app but its the same process either way. Bottom line: This is horrible without the default raise to wrist feature that nobody can find. The worst part is I cant export all of my scorecards and will have to start over. Currently testing the Garmin S20.
